Project Summary

“There is no limit to what we can achieve if we don’t care who gets the credit.”
Veronica Yates

Here are a clear set of goals and the path forward that we have set of ourselves. Second, progress in reaching the goals is measured with defined indicators. The third step is to compare the actual/measured situation with how it was planned initially. Listed below are a set of projects that we are working on.

Vocational Training Centers

Vocational training centers are places dedicated to improving practical skills for particular jobs.. These Vocational Training Centers play a crucial role in filling the gaps in skills needed in the job market and adjusting education to meet the changing needs of different industries. Additionally, vocational training is not just about starting a job. It is also an ongoing process of getting better at skills and helping undergraduate and graduate students move forward in their careers and specialize in specific areas.

Established in 2019, the Hope and Care Foundation Vocational Training Centers are committed to empowering numerous underprivileged youths, especially the girl child by providing them with high-quality vocational training. Our primary goal is to prepare them for lucrative employment opportunities. A distinctive feature of our Vocational Training Centers is its commitment to creating curricula to the evolving demands of the industry and we also work hard to connect with students and the industry itself.

The first step towards setting up a Vocational Training Center is to survey a certain demographic area. This helps us to focus on the unique needs of each market and guides our educational initiatives. The two most common initiatives considering the background of the students we engage happen to be certified tailoring and computer related courses. The objective here is not only to provide education but also to empower the local residents by equipping them with skills that directly cater to the demands of the market. All our courses are certified by established certification agencies which help the students to get credible employed once they finish the course.

In conclusion, it’s the dedication that makes our training centers not just places of learning but a place where education meets the real-world demands of the industry, creating a bridge for students to step confidently into their careers.

“एक मुट्ठी आसमान”

To provide sustainable development alternatives and access to basic health and education
This includes providing alternate means of sustainability to the villagers. We propose to provide new skill sets to the girls and women of these villages. This will help them to start small entrepreneurial activities from their home to add to their income. Training will be provided by technical institutes who specialise in teaching stitching, embroidery and other allied activities.
Apart from this we wish to provide families in a these villages with monthly basic ration, items of hygiene and cleanliness and basic necessities like bedding and clothes.
Mobility is a huge issue especially for the girl child when it comes to education. Majority of the girls drop out before college because of the difficulty in reaching the colleges. We propose to provide bicycles to these girls who can then travel for both education and work.
As part of our motto of “Back to school” we propose to provide school going children in these villages with basic tools like pens and pencils, copies, school bags and water bottles. Absence of a regular income will mean that school going children will be the first to suffer and they will be unable to continue their education.

Inculcate the learning process in children:

The ‘Padhe Bharat Badhe Bharat’ (PBBB) is a sub-programme of erstwhile Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) which is continued under the new integrated scheme Samagra Shiksha to ensure quality at the foundational years of schooling. The objectives of the programme are to promote early reading and writing with comprehension skills in children, and also basic numeracy skills. States/ UTs are implementing PBBB in their respective States/UTs using multiple strategies and approaches.

Hope and Care Foundation is planning to support government elementary and primary schools in Gautam Budh Nagar to start with under this project in development and strengthening the school libraries. We plan to take this national in a year’s time.

If one goes by District Information System for Education (DISE) data, 45% in Uttar Pradesh as compared to 62% of government schools in India have a library. But walk into any such institution and the library the teacher points to is just a locked rack with books gathering dust, some gnawed at by termites and having barely anything to do with children.

Even though most schools have a collection of books, dysfunctional libraries — common phenomenon across institutions are a hindrance to cultivation of the reading habit among students in public schools. Research say the books are not engaging, lack colour and illustrations, and above all, don’t match the students’ reading levels.

Our goal is to promote early learning skills by increasing the availability of age and grade appropriate books and learning materials by establishing school libraries in elementary and primary schools. This will give rise to an increased number of functional libraries and in turn an increased student participation in reading related activities.

Hope and Care Foundation undertakes a three-step approach:

  • Assessment of the initial infrastructure: In this process our expert panel will assess the availability of age and grade appropriate learning materials, issue of books, actual time allocated for use of library materials.
  • Procurement and supply of age and grade appropriate learning materials: Hope and Care Foundation’s expert committee will finalize the list of books and complete the procurement. The books will be supplied and arranged in child friendly manner.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: The books supplied will be entered in the stock register of the library. The issue and receipt of the books will be maintained is the book issue register. The class, number of students and duration will be maintained in a separate register to assess the participation and allotment of library period in the school to increase reading habits among the children.

The involvement of the Foundation members in the process helps in monitoring the functionality of the library and progress of the children. With minimum investment we can share our achievements with the government for replication in other government aided schools also.

Quality Education For Deserving Children

Hope and Care Foundation identifies deserving children from the economically weaker sections of the society and helps them get admission in good educational institutions where they can get quality education. The foundation helps these children to integrate themselves in these institutions and provides them both financial help as well as counselling so that the learning process becomes seamless and grounded.
