Global Indian International School – GIIS Noida, Uttar Pradesh
The ongoing pandemic has affected the mental and physical wellbeing of the people, especially the underprivileged sections of the society. We, at GIIS Noida, with an intention of extending a helping hand, have collaborated with an NGO – Hope and Care Foundation in Noida, under the aegis of “Ek Muthey Aasman”. Under this initiative we have adopted poor families in the nearby villages of the Jewar District, Noida to help them by providing basic necessities like ration, clothes, masks, books, bedding, etc. on monthly basis.
Our school students along with the school staff and a few volunteers from the foundation visited the village Nagla Banjara of the district. We are glad that we were able to distribute the various items collected to primary school students and individual families living in the village and sensitize them with several health and hygiene practices that must be followed in routine.
We have undertaken this initiative for the next six months with an aim to support these underprivileged families so that they can live comfortably and create a decent life for themselves along with a better future.
