Capacity building is the process of developing an organization’s strength and sustainability. More than just important, it’s essential for the health and longevity of the organization. Capacity building enables us to focus on our mission — not simply on survival. With capacity building, we can maintain focus and determine the best ways to deliver our vision and mission. We create and maintain strong foundations for projects, measure internal effectiveness and external impact, and plan and cultivate strategic relationships.
At the individual level, capacity building refers to the process of changing attitudes and behaviours-imparting knowledge and developing skills while maximizing the benefits of participation, knowledge exchange and ownership. At the institutional level it focuses on the overall organizational performance and functioning capabilities, as well as the ability of an organization to adapt to change. At the systemic level it emphasizes the overall policy framework in which individuals and organizations operate and interact with the external environment. In the first phase capacity building programmes have been done at various institutions in Faridabad, Mewat, Bhopal, Begusarai and Bawana. We are now expanding this program over a wider geographical region to cover more schools.
